Angel Food Berry Trifle

Description

When summer time starts creeping in, do you start craving light, yummy, somewhat-good-for-you desserts? Try this berry trifle. It’s easy, summery, and not too bad on fat or calories.


Ingredients

Scale
  • Angel food cake
  • 3 cups blueberries, frozen or fresh
  • 3 cups strawberries, frozen or fresh
  • 12 oz. whipped topping
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 8 oz. reduced fat cream cheese

Instructions

  1.  Cream together softened cream cheese and powdered sugar.
  2. Fold in whipped topping and set aside.
  3. Tear angel food cake into large chunks and place half in the bottom of a large, clear bowl.
  4. Pour the strawberries over the cake layer.
  5. Spread 1/2 of the cream cheese mixture evenly over the strawberries.
  6. Add another layer of cake, top with blueberries, then top with remaining cream cheese mixture.
  7. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
