Ingredients
2 slices of toasted milk bread
1 cup of whipping cream (at least 33% cream)
1 tbsp. powdered sugar
1–2 kiwis
4 strawberries
Instructions
- Cut off the tips of the strawberries. Use a sharp knife to cut out the crown on top. Shape them into small strawberries to serve. Brush the tails with the green candy melts.
- Peel the kiwis. Slice the berries into slices.
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Cover a cutting board with cling wrap. Place 1 slice of bread. Cover it with a layer of cream. Mentally determine the diagonal along which you will cut the sandwich. Place the strawberries so that the cut will look like a tulip.
- Cover the berries with the cream.
- Continue to alternate berries and cream. Place the remaining sliced berries on the loose corners. Cover everything generously with cream. Finish the assembly with a slice of bread on top.
- Wrap the sandwich in cling wrap. Mark the direction of the cut with a marker. Place the sandwich in the freezer for 1.5 hours.
- Now cut the crusts off and slice the sandwich in half diagonally. Place the fruit sandwiches on a plate and garnish with small strawberries. These sandwiches taste like a creamy filling with a light fruity twist.
Notes
Note that this creative sandwich recipe requires freezing the sandwiches for an hour and a half, so this is something you will want to prepare in advance of any gathering or picnic.
