Few dishes are as beloved and versatile as the humble taco. Whether you’re a taco aficionado or new to the world of Mexican cuisine, these beef tacos are bound to become a staple in your recipe collection.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 810 taco shells
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp chili powder salt and pepper, to taste

Garnish:

  • Tomatoes, diced
  • Avocado, sliced
  • Lettuce
  • Sour cream

Instructions

  • In a large skillet add olive oil, wait until it gets hot and sauté diced onion.
  • Add garlic and 1 pound of ground beef, cook for 5-10 minutes until it gets brown.
  • Add spices and stir it. Lastly add tomato sauce and cornmeal, reduce it until it has the right texture. It shouldn’t be too liquidy.
  • Spoon about ⅓ cup taco meat into each shell and sprinkle with cheddar cheese and broil in oven until cheese melts.
  • Decorate the tacos with tomatoes, lettuce, avocado slices, and a spoon of sour cream.
