Description

With a little imagination and basic ingredients—most of which you probably already have around the house—you can turn Oreos into fun desserts for any occasion. Here are some fun St. Patrick’s Day Oreo cookies.

Ingredients

Scale
  • ¼ cup white chocolate
  • 6 chocolate Oreos
  • Multicolored M&Ms
  • 2 red nose beads
  • Fine orange and white sprinkles
  • White and yellow candy
  • 1 drop orange food coloring
  • 2 dark chocolate slices
  • 4 chocolate chips
  • 1 green ribbon candy
  • 1 rainbow ribbon candy

Instructions

Pot of gold.

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave on pulse mode. Divide the Oreos in half. Cut the rainbow candy into two pieces. Spread some chocolate over the filling, lay out the rainbow candy, and press the cookies down.
  2. Spoon a teaspoon of melted chocolate on top of the Oreos. Before it hardens, arrange the yellow candy to stand for gold coins. Sprinkle with a little glittery edible powder if desired.
  3. Chill them in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

Rainbows:

  1. Melt the white chocolate in a steam bath or in the microwave, 30 seconds at a time.
  2. Place the Oreos on a board. Cover the cookies with white chocolate.
  3. Arrange the M&M’s in the shape of a rainbow, alternating the candies by color.
  4. Place clouds – white confetti and sprinkles – around the edge. Refrigerate the treats.

Leprechauns!

  1. Place the Oreos on the board. Cut a small piece of green ribbon candy, place it on the cookies, and trim it to create the margins of the leprechaun’s hat. Cut out the brim.
  2. Place the hat on the cookie and check that everything looks trim and proper. Cut out the second hat according to the pattern.
  3. Color the white chocolate with a little bit of food coloring to where it looks like skin color. Place the chocolate on the cookies. Arrange the hats.
  4. Sprinkle orange sprinkles for the beard. Add chocolate chips for eyes and beads for the noses. Refrigerate until chocolate has firmed up.

Notes

Transfer treats to a board and serve. Have a happy St. Patrick’s Day!
