Directions for Making Nutter Butter Turkeys:

  1. Prep your base: Line a tray with parchment paper. Take your round Nutter Butters and place them on the tray (you can leave the peanut butter filling in or scrape it out, up to you!).

  1. Build your turkey: Smear a little of the white chocolate on the back of a round cookie, then place a peanut-shaped Nutter Butter on the bottom half. Work quickly, the chocolate sets fast!
  1. Add the feathers: Place 5 candy corn pieces in a row on the back for feathers, gently pressing them into the white chocolate. The round cookie helps hold them in place!
  1. Turkey eyes: Dip the end of a skewer or chopstick into the white melts and dab a bit on top of your Nutter Butter. Add two candy eyeballs and press them gently to stick.
  1. Add a beak: Dab a bit of white chocolate underneath the eyes and press a Reese’s Pieces half in place for the beak.
  1. Wattle time: Use the red cookie icing to pipe a little wattle (the red part under the beak). If you don’t have cookie icing, you can also use red candy melts or frosting.
  1. Let them set: Allow the turkeys to harden for about 15-20 minutes at room temp, or pop them in the fridge for 5-10 minutes to speed things up.

Storing:

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2-3 weeks at room temp, or a month in the fridge.

These little nutter butter turkeys are perfect for a fun Thanksgiving snack or as a treat to share at a fall gathering.

  • 12 large round Nutter Butter cookies
  • ½ cup white candy melts (might need a little extra)
  • 120 pieces of candy corn
  • 48 candy eyeballs
  • Orange Reese’s Pieces (cut in half)
  • Red cookie icing

Notes

  • Can’t find round Nutter Butters? No worries! You can use Oreos, Golden Oreos, or even other peanut butter sandwich cookies you find at the store.
  • White chocolate chips or any color candy melts can be used instead of the white candy melts.
  • No red cookie icing? Melt some red candy melts or use red frosting in a piping bag to make the wattle!
