Valentine Pretzel Rods

Here’s a fun (and very simple!) recipe to make with your kids: Valentine Pretzel Rods. You can decorate these for a homeschool Valentine’s Day party or co-op. This is a very versatile recipe, as depending on the color of candy melts you use and the decorations, this can be tweaked to fit all kinds of holidays and events.

But today, we’re making Valentine-themed treats, which you can enjoy making with kids of all ages. Remember, baking is a terrific way to teach your kids math in the kitchen!)

Valentine pretzel rods

Ingredients for Valentine Pretzel Rods:

Instructions for Making Valentine Pretzel Rods:

Melt the pink and black candy melts, as directed on the package.

Using a spoon, scoop candy melts over the top of one end of the pretzels. Roll as you are scooping and then tap lightly to get the excess candy melts off the pretzel.

Place them on parchment paper so they can cool.

Before the Valentine pretzel rods dry, add the heart sprinkles to the pink pretzels. Add the black sprinkles to the pink pretzel rods. Lastly, add the pink sprinkles to the black pretzel rods.

Let dry and enjoy!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 Snyder’s pretzel rods
  • 12 oz bag pink candy melts
  • 12 oz bag black candy melts
  • 1 tablespoon pink heart sprinkles
  • 1 tablespoon pink confetti sprinkles
  • 1 teaspoon black sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Melt the pink and black candy melts as directed on the package.
  2. Using a spoon, scoop candy melts over the top of one end of the pretzels. Roll as you are scooping then tap lightly to get the excess candy melts off the pretzel.
  3. Place on parchment paper.
  4. Before the candy melts dry, add the heart sprinkles to the pink pretzels.
  5. Add the black sprinkles to the pink pretzel rods.
  6. Add the pink sprinkles to the black pretzel rods.
  7. Let dry before serving!
