Delicious and Easy Keto Tacos

If you’re looking for some keto-friendly dishes, these keto tacos are a great option. Keto, short for ketogenic, refers to a diet that is low in carbs and higher in protein and fat. The idea behind a keto diet is that when your body doesn’t have as many carbs to work with, it will begin to break down proteins and fat for energy. The result is, ideally, weight loss.

As with any changes you make in your diet and/or exercise plan, it is important to keep in mind long-term health benefits and check with your doctor before making any drastic changes. That said, a keto-friendly diet has been known to help not only with weight loss but also other medical conditions. But on to the recipe! These keto tacos only require two main ingredients: cheddar cheese and ground beef, with salsa and taco seasoning for flavor.

What is more, the keto tacos are quick and easy to make. You can have a low-carb meal on the table in under half an hour! Add a salad, like this quick make-ahead broccoli salad, and you’re set.

Ingredients for keto tacos

  • 1 cup ground beef
  • 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp salsa
  • 1 tsp taco seasoning
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 1 tomato (optional) for garnish
  • Parchment paper

Instructions for keto tacos:

First, gather all the ingredients you’ll need, including the parchment paper and a skillet for cooking your ground beef.

If you’ve never tried this before, here you’re basically making the taco shells, but with cheese instead of tortillas! So, sprinkle the cheese in the shape of a circle on parchment paper on top of a microwavable plate.

Next, put it in the microwave for 30 seconds to melt the cheese and let it slightly harden. Then bend the parchment in half a little and let the cheese harden to make it look like a boat. Repeat this for as many taco shells as you need.

Fry your ground beef in the skillet until it is browned, for about 10-15 minutes.

Add seasoning to the ground beef and a little water. Then simmer it for three or four minutes, until it’s tender.

Now you can put the minced meat in the cheese boats, and add salsa on top to taste. If desired, slice tomatoes on the side to use as a garnish.

You will be hard-pressed to find an easier recipe than these keto tacos! They’re healthy, yet easy for a midweek dinner when you’re short on time.


  • 1 cup ground beef
