Make Your Own Granola
Are you trying to eat whole foods or just eat healthier foods with natural ingredients and less sugar, dairy, and wheat? If so, make your own granola! You can eat it as a snack just like it is, or you can put it in a bowl with a little almond milk or coconut milk and eat it like cereal. And you can use different kinds of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits in this recipe in order to change it up and keep it interesting!
- 4 c. rolled oats (I like Rob’s Redmill)
- 1 c. nut or seed of choice (I love sliced almonds!)
- 1 c. dried fruit of choice (I love to use raisins in mine!)
- 1 c. coconut, flaked
- 1 tsp. cinnamon (or use Pumpkin Pie Spice Blend or Apple Pie Spice Blend)
- 4 tbsp. Canola oil (or grapeseed oil if you have it–it’s a healthier option)
Mix all ingredients except oil. First, toss with 4 tbsp. oil. Next, bake at 350 degrees. Stir every 5 minutes until toasted and golden throughout. Don’t over-cook or your fruit will scorch. Let cool and store in an air-tight container. Perfectly simple!
