Caramel Spoon Hot Chocolate
If you’re looking for a fun way to add some flavor to your hot chocolate or if you enjoy putting together gift bags or boxes for friends, neighbors, or Sunday school teachers, you’ll love this recipe for caramel spoon hot chocolate!
If you’re making these caramel spoons for yourself and your family, follow the simple instructions found below. If you’re making them to give as gifts, just include a cute mug, a package of hot chocolate mix, and a caramel spoon (or several of them) in a pretty gift bag or box.
Actually, this recipe could even be used for coffee lovers. Just substitute coffee for the hot chocolate. So it’s truly something nearly everybody will enjoy!
First, you’ll need to unwrap your caramels and melt them in the microwave for about a minute. They will be hot and bubbly, and you’ll be able to spoon them into your spoon mold.
Once you’ve spooned the melted caramel into your mold, be sure to flatten them with a knife and then tap the mold to be sure the caramel gets into all the spaces.
Place the mold in the freezer and allow to freeze overnight.
The next day, make your hot chocolate according to the directions on the package or make homemade hot chocolate. It’s up to you! My kids like the packaged hot chocolate just as much as the homemade kind, so I don’t feel guilty about making the packaged kind. And of course, you’ll want to include hot chocolate packets if you’re going to give this as a gift.
When you’re ready to drink your hot chocolate, add whipped cream if you want to, and then simply use one of the caramel spoons to stir it. The spoon will melt and add a delicious caramel flavor to your hot chocolate. Yum!
Whether you make this for yourself, to share at a party, or to give as gifts to friends and family, we hope you enjoy indulging in some caramel spoon hot chocolate!
