How to Make the Heart Thumbprint Cookies

Step One: Preheat and Prepare

These heart-shaped thumbprint cookies are a cute baking project to do with your kids for Valentine’s Day!

  • ¾ cup strawberry puree (or strawberry jam/jelly)

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whip together the softened butter and powdered sugar.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla and whip until well incorporated.
  4. Add your flour and cornstarch to the bowl and fold in until incorporated; don’t over mix.
  5. Roll dough into 24, 1-inch balls.
  6. Use your finger to press a heart shape into each dough ball.
  7. Carefully spoon 1 tsp of puree into the heart shape.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden.
  9. Optional: Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Notes

*Use any flavor of jam or puree you prefer, such as cherry, raspberry, blueberry, etc.
