Since it’s the holidays, you probably have a party to attend or pot-luck dinner at your church. Or you may just be going to visit a friend or take a treat to a friend or relative. But if you prefer to eat “real food” instead of processed foods, it can be hard to decide what to make that’s easy to eat, that children and adults will enjoy, and that is something a little different for the holidays. These Sausage and Cheese Balls might be just what you’re looking for! And if you eat gluten free, just use Pamela’s Baking Mix instead of regular wheat flour.

Sausage and Cheese Balls Recipe

My first memory of sausage balls was from church potlucks. There was this one lady who brought them to every event, and as a child I would try to make it far enough up in line to be able to take a few before they all disappeared.

We do not make these often, but I too like to make them for special occasions.  They make a perfect appetizer for game day or a special addition to a weekend breakfast.

Most classic sausage ball recipes that you find out there online include store bought, pre-packaged baking mixes.  I am not a fan of processed ingredients which is why I make things like my own “Cream of Soup Mix” to keep around the house.

This sausage and cheese ball recipe includes all real food ingredients.  Its cheesy goodness makes it every child’s favorite, and you can kick the heat up a bit for those who like it more on the spicy side.
