Is there anyone that doesn’t love macaroni & cheese? This simple baked mac and cheese is a great option for your family supper and something that my family enjoys on a regular basis.
To begin, cook one pound of macaroni to al dente. You can use the traditional elbow macaroni or any variation that you have on hand. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Meanwhile, in a bowl, combine 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 2 cups cottage cheese, 1/2 c grated parmesan cheese, 1 cup sour cream, 1/2 cup milk, a dash of salt & pepper, a teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg. Stir those together and set aside for a moment.
In a dish, combine 1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs, a bit of salt & pepper, and a tablespoon of parsley. Stir those together and pour in 3 tablespoons of melted butter. Stir them well until mixed.
When your macaroni is done cooking, drain it and add it to the bowl. Stir it all together.
Pour the pasta into a lightly greased 9×13 or equivalent baking dish. Spread it evenly.
Sprinkle the bread crumb mixture over the top of the dish. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until lightly golden.
That’s it! Serve and enjoy!
