Sloppy Joe Cups
Do your kids love sloppy joes? Do you rarely make them because you don’t like the soggy mess? Try these sloppy joe cups instead! They’re easy to make, look delectable, and taste like traditional sloppy joes … but crispier (and if I may say so, tastier!).
Ingredients for Sloppy Joe Cups
- ½ lb. (200-250g) ground beef
- 1 cup sloppy joe sauce
- 3-4 sheets frozen puff pastry
- 8 slices American cheese
- Egg wash for top
Instructions for Sloppy Joe Cups
Step One:
In a large skillet, heat some olive oil and brown the ground beef.
Step Two:
Add the sloppy joe sauce and simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes.
Step Three:
Remove from heat; let the mixture cool slightly.
Step Four:
After defrosting your puff pastry sheets, roll them out on a lightly floured surface; cut each piece into 3 rectangles. Line each muffin cup in your muffin tin by pressing 1 dough piece at the bottom.
Step Five:
Cut the cheese slices into 4 small squares, and place 1 piece of cheese in every cup. Then place a scoop of beef mixture into the center of each.
Step Six:
Top with 1-2 slices of cheese.
Step Seven:
Put egg wash on the edges of the dough.
Step Eight:
Bake for 15-17 minutes at 375F until golden brown.
These are best eaten hot from the oven. Let them cool slightly first, of course.
