Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

I’ll have to be open with you and admit I am not a tomato fan. Never have been and don’t think I ever will be. With as much as I love to cook and work with food you would think I would love all food. Swiss steak is a recipe that my mom made all the time growing up. It uses a cheap steak, and it’s easy to make. I’ll have to admit I refused to even try this recipe because of the tomatoes, but my mom got me to try it, and I LOVED it. Yep this tomato-hater loved this swiss steak recipe filled with tomatoes.

It wasn’t until I was older that I discovered it’s just raw tomatoes that I dislike. As long as they are cooked and seasoned like they are in this recipe, I like them! For this Slow Cooker Swiss Steak I used a round steak with seasonings and tomatoes. When making swiss steak, you HAVE to make mashed potatoes on the side, so make sure to try The World’s BEST mashed potato recipe for this one. If you want to skip in the mashed potatoes, then try something different like my Easy Baked Cheesy Ranch Potatoes.
